When we found out that Michelle Beadle would be leaving ESPN2's SportsNation for the NBC family of networks, there was no way that viewers could reasonably expect that the next host would actually be an upgrade over in the looks department. That's exactly what we got, though, as Charissa Thompson has been named Beadle's successor and will co-host the show with Colin Cowherd.
Thompson also worked as a reporter at the World Cup for Yahoo! It will be interesting to see if the year-old University of California, Santa Barbara alum can develop the same kind of chemistry with Cowherd that Beadle had with her former co-host. Cowherd probably got used to working with Beadle every day and wasn't in awe of her looks, so I'm looking forward to seeing how he reacts when he starts working with a new bombshell. No one is going to replace her.
Her humility is even more impressive seeing as she was nominated as one of Playboy's Sexiest Sportscasters of the Year in She was still remaining when the field was whittled down to five finalists, but she lost out to Erin Andrews. Could this be the beginning of a female sportscaster rivalry between Andrews and Thompson.
As far as I'm concerned, Andrews has the profession on lock thanks to her seniority and the ever-swirling tabloids that surround her existence. Thompson answered five questions today regarding her SportsNation debut, which can be found here.
One question asked her if she would treat Cowherd any differently, and this was her response:. That's what I like to hear. It's going to make for a fun show if she's giving it to Cowherd everyday in the form of snide remarks and sarcasm.
If you didn't catch her first show today, you can catch her every weekday at p. Enjoy our content?
