I went into this movie with kinda low expectations because I had read some negative reviews about Tris and tobias sex movie but honestly I was pleasantly surprised! The special affects are great and the acting is much better than the first. This movie is somewhat violent its more off screen but you know what happens I. The romance while a little more in this movie is VERY tasteful. The sex scene isn't a sex scene so parents don't really need to worry. They take their shirts off, you see her back, they kiss, it goes black. Its about maybe 20 seconds. While Tris is not the best role model for most of the movie she is a very strong female character and she has to deal with a lot of guilt.
Ultimately she does the right thing and ends up being that role model parents would be looking for. Ultimately this movie is very enjoyable and feels longer than it is.
There is a good bit of dialogue too which is always nice. I'm not going to address the differences from book to screen because I really didn't care. Its a movie so I liked the movie in its own without comparing it constantly to the book.
Bottom line its a good movie, better than the first in my opinion, and if your kids watched the first they could watch this one. This title contains: Positive Messages. Positive role models. This review Helped me decide 2. Had useful details 2. Read my mind 1. Report this review. Teen, 14 years old Written by BookAddict78 November 1, Did I read the wrong book?
It was nothing like the book. One of the worst parts for me is that Tris called Tobias 'Four' throughout the whole movie. In the book, she calls him Tobias when she speaks and thinks of him as 'Tobias'. I believe she didn't call him Tobias once through the whole movie. Another: there is a sex scene. It starts out with Tris and Four kissing, but then they unzip her shirt, and he takes off his shirt as well.
Then there is some kissing it doesn't last Tris and tobias sex longand are shown together in bed after the screen blackens.
Their shoulders are both bare, implying that they had sex, which was not in the book. Nothing is shown beside bare shoulders and backs. No such scene was in the book, obviously. I really hated how they added this. I've read some reviews that say they loved the movie and have read the book If you've read the book, then you know the movie is nothing like the book, so why do you like it???
I guess it is slightly entertaining. There is violence and action scenes involving shooting, but the plot line is EXTREMELY hard to follow, especially for my older brother and mom who watched with me, and have never read the books. So, overall, my advice is to NOT watch this movie. It sucks. But if you are stubborn and desperately want to watch this movie, read the book first. This title contains: Sexy stuff.
Helped me decide. Had useful details. Read my mind 2. Kid, 12 years old March 29, Insurgent Awesome! I waited a year for this movie and it was worth the wait in my opinion There is more action than Divergent, but most of it isn't that bad. There is a scene in the Candor hq where you think Eric is about to shoot a five year old girl, but he is stopped at last minute.
Yes, there is a sex scene, but it's really brief and not that much is shown. My cousin, who is a little younger than me, came with me, and I just had him pull his hat brim over his eyes. Overall, great movie that leaves you in suspense. I can't wait for Allegiant part one! Had useful details 1.
Kid, 11 years old April 6, This movie is so not like the book!!!!!! But unlike the first movie this is enjoyable for people who have never even heard of the book!!!!!
Teen, 13 years old Written by johnstewart March 27, MUCH Better than the first! To be honest, this movie is actually good! But, it's not just better than "Divergent", it's also much more violent and dark. There is some blood, and LOTS of guns. A little girl is nearly executed without mercy and it might be unsettling to. And also, Jeanine the "villain" does test simulations on Divergents and they scream in pain and some die.
There is a fight on a train and you can hear something breaking most likely a bone.
There is one sex scene, but it's short. Peter says the F-word one time. The simulations can be intense when we see Tris in one of them. The movie's already so violent that this review would be too long if I listed all of the violence. This title contains: Positive role models. Read my mind. Kid, 7 years old March 24, I like it because it's exciting, but the previews for horror movies before it made me scared.
That's why I think it's inappropriate but good. Teen, 13 years old Written by landontube1 March 21, Parents should be aware that Insurgent is much more violent and sexual than the first installment, although it's still quite subtle for teenage viewers.Tris and tobias sex
